JB Andrews World Mental Health Day by doing a Team-Building Treasure Hunt Around Leeds
In honour of World Mental Health Day, the team at JB Andrews swapped their desks for puzzles, clues, and a bit of friendly competition, embarking on a bespoke team-building corporate activity treasure hunt around Leeds designed by The Great Game Treasure Hunts.
What was the aim? To get outdoors, have some fun, and strengthen bonds, all while promoting positive mental health and wellness at work.
Why does Team-Building Matter for Mental Health?
Modern workplaces can be fast-paced and high-pressure, so it’s no surprise that employers like JB Andrews are prioritising mental well-being alongside performance. A well-designed team-building corporate event, especially one that combines adventure, laughter, and working together, can make a real difference.
Getting teams out of the office encourages them to:
-
Switch off from screens and deadlines
-
Re-energise with movement and fresh air
-
Connect with colleagues in new and genuine ways
When people feel relaxed and valued, they return to work more motivated, creative, and confident. Team bonding isn’t just a morale booster — it’s an investment in a healthy company culture.
The Power of Play and Problem-Solving
Our Leeds scavenger hunt was packed with puzzles, clues, and challenges that got everyone thinking together. From decoding riddles in city landmarks to racing between clues, every team member had a chance to get involved.
Problem-solving in a down to earth setting like this will build trust and communication, while that natural sense of shared goals helps strengthen relationships at work and improve productivity.
Building your Positive Company Culture
By celebrating World Mental Health Day with something active and inclusive, JB Andrews showed that mental health support doesn’t have to be a seminar or presentation, it can be a fun activity.
Treasure hunts like this promote:
-
Positivity and laughter
-
Open communication
-
A sense of shared purpose and goals.
They remind teams that it’s okay to take a break, have fun, and connect as people, not just work colleagues.
In Their Own Words
"That was brilliant, thanks so much. Everyone had an amazing time!!!"
