Clue 1

Remember this treasure hunt is played using Google Earth and not Google Maps.

Welcome to the Tanzania Wanderlust Treasure Hunt!

The name "Tanzania" was created from the names of the two states that unified to create the country:

Tanganyika - the main area of land within the country on the African continent. The name "Tanganyika" is derived from the Swahili words tanga ("sail") and nyika ("uninhabited plain", "wilderness"), creating the phrase "sail in the wilderness".

and

Zanzibar - the archipelago off the coast of the country. This comes from "zenji", the name for a local people (said to mean "black"), and the Arabic word "barr", which means coast or shore.

It consists of the first three letters of the names of the two states ("Tan" and "Zan") and the suffix, "ia" to form Tanzania.

Learn about a brief history of the country on the next page.

Now with the help of the autobahns find Bayern Munich F.Cs home stadium. Read the information below about this ground breaking stadium picking up key points to help you find it.

Opened in 2005 this 70,000 capacity stadium is the second biggest in Germany behind Borussia Dortmund's. Its famous for being the first stadium in the world with a full colour changing exterior, the exterior panels appear white from far away but when examined closely, there are little dots which light up. Munich Police strongly insists on using a single-colour lighting scheme due to several car accidents on the nearby 99 Autobahn with drivers being distracted by the changing lights. The distinctive architecture of the stadium has given it the nickname "Schlauchboot" ("dinghy").

      3.

Once found zoom in above the stadium and answer this question - There are 3 words on the seats of the west stand, which word is repeated twice? Check your answer in the box at the end of this step.

Tip - to help you find the answer use the 3D feature by switching into 3D mode, do this by clicking once on the wanderlust treasure hunt and scavenger hunt club 3D iconbutton in the corner.

DON'T GET CONFUSED - when you are in 2D mode the 3D button will be visible and vice versa.

Look at the club badge seen on the the seats of the northern stand. The blue and white diamond pattern in the middle can also be found on the flag of Bavaria which comes from the coat of arms of the Wittelsbach dynasty, who ruled Upper Bavaria from 1240 to 1918.
